Take Advantage of the Automated Clearing House (ACH) Network with Sterling CMS

As a Sterling CMS client, you can benefit from using the low-cost, U.S. bank-to-bank electronic network for clearing dollar payments: the Automated Clearing House (ACH).

Less Costly, More Efficient Than Checks

ACH Origination Credit simplifies your processes for repeating payments such as pension benefits, payroll, taxes and vendor obligations. Using your own accounting software or a program provided by Sterling, you can initiate and schedule transactions for execution as soon as the next business day. Funds move automatically from your Sterling account to the designated bank account of the recipient. Both you and the payee know exactly when the transaction is completed so you each have the benefit of predictable cash flow.

Payroll Direct Deposit uses the ACH to deposit your employees' pay directly into their personal bank accounts, wherever they bank, whether you handle your payroll yourself or rely on a payroll services provider. Your business saves the cost of issuing paper paychecks, and your employees do not have to leave their desks to cash them. You know exactly when your account will be debited, and they know precisely when funds are available for withdrawal. You can also offer employees the flexibility to divide their pay among different accounts.

Direct Collections for Quicker Availability

When your customers send you recurring payments, ACH Origination Debit can accelerate the collection process. This service is ideal for companies whose receivables include items such as insurance premiums, rents, taxes, and mortgage payments. Once the customer authorizes the scheduled debit from their account to yours, they no longer have to worry about late, missed or lost payments. Because you control the timing of the debit, you know exactly when the funds will be available to your business. The service often proves so successful that companies offer their customers a discount for enrolling.

Whether used to remit or collect recurring payments, ACH services deliver a more efficient alternative to checks at a lower cost than a wire transfer. Your Sterling banker will help identify the optimum applications for your business as well as its vendors, employees and customers.
